Meet The Enemy was one of a number of stories that I wrote for the Industry Standard in the period between 2000 and the company’s untimely explosion, which was captured in Starving to Death on $200 Million: The Short, Absurd Life of The Industry Standard, by former Standard staffer James Ledbetter. The piece was about hackers and in it I interviewed a kid named Ender (a code name, clearly 😉 who explained the hierarchy of the self-taught world of hackers. I have it somewhere – maybe I can scan it in. It’s a great clip.
